• Pat Riley called ex-Heat power forward P.J. Brown to try to convince him to join the team. Agent Mark Bartelstein said the Heat's a strong contender for Brown if he decides not to retire.

It also says on hoopshype.com that Ruben Patterson wants to play with either us or Boston.

This must mean that Pat has some intentions on moving Haslem. We gotta get this thing right this year. This year will set everything up for the future. We won't be getting this much money free after any other season until after Shaq retires. I think Pat would rather have PJ signed before he would ever move Haslem.

That could be true, but it seems to me that Riley likes using Walker as Haslem's backup. Frowner

I would not want to trade Haslem. He's one of the few young legs on this team. He's a very underrated and useful player on this team. IMO, the Heat can make the necessary moves WITHOUT trading Haslem. Thus, there would be no need to sign another old person in PJ.

How could we get a trade done for any of the players that we have shown interest without using Haslem as trade bate?
