the kid has destroyed both of his knees. Even if he comes back I dont think he will have the same explosiveness as before. and he didnt have a great shot before that. Chalmers can do a better job then him.

I would love to start chalmers and i honestly and respectfully think chalmers is a better player and also stronger and less injury prone but we just need someone who chalmers can learn from besides banks or quinn even though tey are great players

The promise of Liviningston outweighs the possible negatives that come from signing. Thw whole premise is that he will be inexpensive option to sign. If he is healthy, then he will be much better offensive slashing threat and defensive presence than Banks or Quinn, which would add lethality to our team. Our team is rebuilding so taking a chance on a minimal contract based on performance I think is a no brainer. I say we sign him... Go HEAT!!!

I like how ur an a** but its always funny as hell. Yea he aint the answer but his height is a major advantage for us on both sides of the court. Id take a chance on him, for one he's gonna be cheap so we have very little to lose and if he does work out, he's young so he has major upside compared to what we have to lose. I say go for it. Just his height advantage alone would be worth it with all the mis-matches he'll create.

everything you say is true, except the last part. We have yet to see what Chalmy can do in a professional basketball game so let's just wait on that assessment. I do believe he is our point guard of the future though.

As far as Livingston, yeah he messed up his knee pretty badly but I don't see whats wrong with giving the guy a chance. We can sign him to a deal similar to the one that the Celtics just gave Darius Miles who also f'ed up his knee (a performance based contract) and if he doesn't pan out simply cut him. There is absolutely no risk in that scenario. The only question would be whether he is willing to accept that kind of a deal.

I dont think any team will give him more than the minimum until he can show them that he can play all 82 games. Plus we should be a front runner to land him because A. We've publicly said we need help at the one meaning he will get playing time and B. With our new pickups over the offseason(Chalmers,Beasley,Magloire and JJ) and with Wade and Marion being healthy its pretty safe to say that we should be contenders in the East, almost a shoe in for playoffs if we can stay away from the injury bug.

True but you know some NBA players overrate themselves so he might think some team is dumb enough to give him a crazy amount of money just off word that he is healthy again. Who knows? But yeah we should definitely be the front runners if our FO is at all interested in him. Only thing we'd have to be concerned about if we signed him is how to get rid of either Banks or Quinn so we don't have too many PGs on our roster.

Quinn isnt signed yet, but i do want to re-sign him but that leaves the door open to trade some ppl away if he does work out. Trade Banks to a team that needs a point guard, or a blockbuster trade, who knows. What we do know is we have too many players, we need to make some moves and free up at least one slot for ZO if he comes back.

He basically is signed as long as he accepts the offer we gave him for 1 mil. Right now he's holding off for a better offer (which I doubt he gets) so he'll go with us and tie up a roster spot. And I don't believe we can rescind him anymore because the date to do that has already past. You're right though. Even if we do get livingston and trade away Banks/Quinn we'll still need to free up a roster spot for Zo when/if he comes back midseason.
