... sign Wade, Le Bron, and Bosh in 2010, while keeping Beasley, Cook, and Mario under contract.

I believe these three players signed similar contracts for a reason. If neither wins a championship in 2009-2010, I believe they will be very interested in joining forces in 2010 on an Eastern team. Only a handful of teams can pull this off, Miami of course being one of them.

So lets hear some logical and practical reasons as to why this can or cannot happen.

Lebron will want 20 million, Bosh around same, Wade 20 million. thats 60 million, What is beasley going to get 444k?

Wade and Bosh is the best option.

Mr. O'neal :

2004- Brawl/ suspensions
2005- shoulder injury
2006- Knee injury
2007- Knee surgury
2008- returns to play but still isn't 100%

if we did sign wade lebron and bosh while keeping beasley cook and chalmers those would be are only player we would be able to have more then 6 players theres lebron would come here with beasley bosh and wade because even though he would win a championship he would not be the star or the team wade bosh beasley and lebron would all be good players but you cant score 30 points with those stars on your team and there no way the heat could affore 3 max contracts while having a full 15 player team

If my understanding of the NBA CBA is correct, none of these players, with 6 or fewer years in the NBA, will be able to get more than $15M in the first year of their contract, if the salary cap stands at about $60M in 2010.

In 2010, all three will have been in the NBA for over 6 years.

He's talking about FA in 2010 not trading for them.

Pretty much all the top teams have at least 3 max / or near max contract players.

I doubt scoring 30 pts a night is the aim of any these players. It is all about the rings.

My math might be incorrect, but I think all 3 would have been in the NBA 6 six years next summer, and therefore in the category of 6 or fewer years.

How about something more substantive that "it will never happen". Take at look at the salaries of the top 3 teams in the East (Orlando, Boston, and Cleveland).

even if we had the money pat and mickey would rather save the money then pursue lebron the only way that would happen would be if we couldnt contend for the title then we would go after another star player

We could sign all 3 players, but it would depend on their willingness to lose a little money on their contracts. But given that Lebron and Wade have big endorsements outside of their NBA contracts, its not completely unlikely.

Atm, the luxury tax is about 70mil. Lets say its the same for 2010.

Mario has a team option of $847k, Beasley $4.9mil and cook $2.1mil. That's about $8mil between them. If Wade, Bosh and Bron sign contracts making their base year salary about 15mil each, then we'd have $53 million between the 6 of them with 9 roster spots to fill and 17 million to use. That's the only way it would work. So its not unreasonable, the thing is though, the Market for these guys is huge so it'll take a lot of things to go in Miami's favor starting with Cleveland going nowhere and Bosh having a very very miserable year.

Lebron = Money. I guarantee you that our Arena would be sold out every night if Bron came here to play with Wade. Not to mention the advertisement and contracts to get time on ESPN and TNT unlike last year lol
