So this competition has been going on for this past week, and Joel and Team Canada are already qualified to the second round.

They lost today against my country, Uruguay by two points but still have a shot at making it to the world cup. The US is qualified by being Olympic Champs

Joel had 13 points and even had a couple of monstrous dunks. Hopefully this helps him prepare for the season.

Anyone else watching this competition?

Wade MVP song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1axAhfNMkOk

Unlike Kobe,Wade makes his team better, He gave Shaq his fourth ring who gave Kobe three.

Wade's first time in the finals he won mvp. lebrons first time there they swept him off his feet.

I was watching the game and it was a good one. Joel seems to have improved. He had some monster blocks and nice dunks. The guy who hit that 3 was clutch man.

Well if Joel Anthony has improved so much, maybe he can bring some of the skill he's got on the Miami Heat court as well.

This guy has a great potential, Blocking, Dunking and the energy he provides,, but the thing is his height which 6'9" which is too short for a C and He is not capable of playing PF because of his lack in offensive skill. But then again, If the heat can utilize him as combo PF and C he can bring something in to the table. Remember the game 6 of Playoffs vs. Hawks wherein Jamaal and JA played together? lots of energy in D but lack of OFFense at the other end

Hope he will improve his ball handling and catching the ball.

Sucking bad? From what the FIBA competition has shown, he has provided quality minutes for Canada.

Yea he was clutch. He had been struggling all game long so what a way to redeem himself. We're beating Mexico right now which unless we really blow it in the second round, puts us in Turkey 2010.

And Joel was easily Canada's best player. He was the one that got the most minutes, and was Canada's go to guy. Just like Esteban Batista is Uruguay's go to guy.

The style of basketball is so different from the NBA though. Its fun to watch if youre country is playing though.

Like the score at halftime for Uruguay-Mexico was 31-29.

I like how on the canadian team's website it says that Joel is a Miami Heat Star.

In order to succeed today in NBA the players need to provide some kind of offence. One needs to be able to score if left alone. Joel cannot do that in NBA. He is a nice guy and all, but we should really stop keeping players that have no offence at all.
