Riley finally understands what's missing and at least made a "draft attempt" to address the problems:
1. Current Roster lacks athleticism from the Point Guard position. (i.e quickness, hops) Enter Beverly - per Riley has a 41" vertical and plays tough D. Suppose to be a freak rebounder for his size. Riley made comparisons to Rondo. 2. Our Small forwards are, well, ... small and passive. One thing Jones, Diawara, Wright and Moon have in common: can't take the ball off the dribble and are all offensively "limited". None of them are have on paper what Dozier could provide: papers say he's 6'10". last accounts 6'9". Anyway, he has hops, showed an outside shot, a shot blocker, etc. if he could develop into a "3". He's ready made for the NBA. |

be nice to see some youtube mixes of Beverly's game but all i managed to find are interviews and a clip of him saving possession by bouncing the ball off the opposing players head.

I am eager to see them play. Hopefully we get the opportunity to see them in summer league because you know that Spo will not play them often. Just look at Beasley.
PS: I am not a beasley homer. |

With some of that skill, I'll be upset if he has to be a reserve

Ya man. I think this draft was successfull and P-BEV has alot to prove and he will be playing with a chip on his shoulder he could have went way higher i believe if he didn't go to ukraine and went to either spain or italy it would have helped his position in the draft. I think he will definitly be a huge part of our team and can't wait to see him contribute. Dozier on the other hand was a stupid pick, "But what if he develops"??? We have wright and beasley that will develop what we needed was a 5 and like other posters have said there were some left even at 60 the NBA.com/tv vids showed us some players we could get, I saw the whole draft didn't recall those big men they showed being drafted so to not pick one was really stupid and a bad move by Riles however P-BEV trust me will be a beast. ======================= Wade MVP song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1axAhfNMkOk WE got that #3.. WE got that MVP... you wanna play with fire? we got MIAMI HEAT! |

Obviously you're a big Wright fan. Based on his body of work the last 5 years, I'm not sure why. Dozier represents a body that we don't have on the roster right now; a long 3. Beasley and Haslem are not big guys and you need some size to complement them. As far as centers go, let's get real; any guy that was available at 60 and we "passed on" can be signed as a free agent if we really want them. I believe I read somwhere that Dozier was the "winningest" college player ever. (in terms of the school's win-loss record) I still think he was good value at 60. |
