Beasley, cook and Chalmers will improve but this is not enough...
7th... bwahahahaha thats hilarious... we were 5th last year, but because atl gets jamal crawford and gives up their one and only facilitator in mike bibby we're way worse than them now... tooo funny.
Im sorry but miami will be FINE, none of the moves made on the east coast are solid championship moves.
VC to orland isnt that impressive, they lost 3 great players, possibly 4 that made that team... alston, turkoglu, lee, gortat... thats a ton of depth to lose.
Detroit getting gordon and charlie V isnt that impressive, they are gonna probably lose rip and rasheed who are both better than either of the two they just brought in... so i dont see an improvement, plus they lost iverson, and i dont care what anyone says, he would have been a good piece and added depth to that team.
philly is the same team, brand is nothing but injury prone... and iggy is good, but i dont see him improving much more, and the rest of that team aside from young is decent at best, not a lot of room for them to move up if you ask me.
chicago just lost gordon, their best scorer, and signed some rookies that wont help them hardly at all... so tell me how they are better than us, when we beat them a bunch last year?? last time i checked they had 1 good rookie, we had 2?
Washington will be good, but only time will tell, arenas is not a true pg... he is a score first kind of guy, and while they will have a ton of offense, i dont see much defense on that team... jamison plays a lil and caron can play some post d on other 3's but he get beat off the dribble constantly. haywood isnt a serious threat inside, hes good, but not amazing by any means.
so theres the teams that are "miles" ahead of us rofl, and i dont see very many big improvements for them... if not watching them drop a bit.
As for cleveland... well shaq is good, but as i remember it was he lack of mobility that hurt cleveland against howard, and shaq or no shaq, you wont be able to stop that unless you have a guy like gasol, or 2 guys like gasol and bynum swarming around the hoop. I very much doubt that they will go with a lineup of
williams
west
lebron
Big Z
Shaq
in theory it could work cause Z can shoot, but still west is too small for the SG spot and will get beat up all day... so really they didnt improve a whole lot, they did some, but not majorly

For those that are saying 7th seed...man you guys are nay sayers. Miami will definitely be contending for the 5th seed as long as D. Wade is healthy. But if this team expects to move forward and be a top 4 seed and a eastern conference finals team, they need to replace chalmers with a talented point guard, and a true power forward like Amare to do damage in the paint. And a good Center would be nice too. We are going to need big guys that can take Howard, Gasol, Odom, and Shaq next season.
*** are you talking about?? chalmers was what 4th in the league in steals, in his rookie year?!?! i mean cmon give the kid some time to improve, beasley averaged better numbers than most of the elite PF's did in their first years, and in less minutes per game, so i think he can improve a bit. And jermain oneal was pretty solid last year at about 70% healthy, not to mention he had 3 blocks on howard in the 1st quarter of the last game against orlando... its gonna take time, but i think miami is looking pretty good for the future and i think the rookies will be NBA ready and experianced, and J.O. will be much healthier and ready to play, not to mention our game plan should be much better, not just a "give it wade and get outta the way" type of offense. some actual post plays, and ball rotation.
