I became a heat fan because of Wade, but most importantly, I became a basketball fan because of Wade. If he leaves I will still be a Heat fan and a basketball fan. It's just that Wade was the main reason i started watching baskeball. The thing is Wade's electrifying and exciting way of playing is what got me into the basketball world. I wasn't watching baskeball and i was too young when MJ was playing though. I never saw MJ playing. I just heard about him when the grown ups talked about him, but nothing else. If I would have watched him I would have probably be a basketball fan since then.

I was a heat fan even before dwayne wade, when they had eddie jones. But I fell in love with the heat round when wade put in work on baron davis his rookie year, and soon after that wade would become my idol.

I will probably be a fan of two teams. I will follow Wade very closely and wish him success with whatever team he's on, but I'll also do the same for the Heat. I think if you're a true fan of a team, you can't actually switch teams no matter how much you'd want to.

Now time for my LIFE story about me getting into Miami Heat.

It was March 25th 2005. North London. I was going to the park with the intention of playing football with my cousins. I had my Arsenal kit on and the studded trainers and everything. The day was also meant to be the hottest of the year so far, so we were really hyped and bought just about EVERY thing you could use at a park. One of those things included a basketball. I didn't care for it much when we bought it, I just did because I was 12 years old and on a hype.

We played football the whole day and had a lot of fun. It got to the end of the day and me and two of my other cousins went to ANOTHER cousins's house to sleep over. The football went to a DIFFERENT cousin's house and we were stuck with a basketball (unfortunately lol). That was the only ball to play with and being little kids we started to get excited and play basketball inside my cousins estate (I think you call it 'projects' in the states). It was about 4 of us and we started to assign each other very crude positions. One was 'the shooter', one was 'the dribbler', one was 'the tackler' and one was 'the passer'. It was literally a spur of the moment kind of thing. We knew nothing of the rules of basketball apart from the double-dribble and travelling. Me being the knowledge-hungry guy I am, I went online and researched the NBA, the different teams, positions, rules, etc.

I didn't really support a team but just followed the progress of all the teams. That's why I'm a bit of an NBA fan, not just a Heat fan. I was particularly into dribbling and skills, rather than dunks and shooting. There's this channel in the UK that shows one NBA game a week. I was made aware of this and watched my first NBA game when I was on holiday in Late May/Early June. The game that happened to be on was Miami vs Pistons. It was an ECF game so I was aware of the importance of the game. I was also aware of the consecutive sweeps the Heat had achieved in the series prior to this one. I watched Dwyane Wade tear everyone apart with his quickness and dribbling. I immediately became a fan of his and the Heat.

I also bought an NBA video game which taught me a lot about the rules and players abilities and stuff.

So there you have it. Ladz has only been into basketball for 4 years. That's the end of my essay lol.

As a fan of the Heat before Wade was even in middle school, I think if he left, I would hate him more than I hate Lebron.

If Wade jumped ship, it would be exactly that, him "jumping ship". It would be his decision entirely, and that would be a decision that I could not come to terms with. Sure we could build around him and stuff, but he knows the front office wants to win as much as he does.

The man can do whatever he wants to do, but if he bounces, he will lose at least one of his million fans.

ooo the good ole days when every year it would be so exciting to play the knicks in the playoffs... im sorry but nothin could ever amount to that era of basketball

Wow, the memories of those days... Your 100% right when you say "nothin could ever amount to that era of basketball" Every HEAT-KNICKS game was like a playoff game!

I was huge bulls fan in the beginning of 90's, cause the right chemistry of the whole team (jordan, pippen, rodman etc.)
But I became Heat fan in 1996, when the first Estonian Player (my original nationality is Estonian) ever was drafted to nba by utah j***, but was traded to Miami, but as soon as I saw ZO and hardaway I knew this is the team I want to support. I watched almost each heat game until 2000, but then went to army and didn't had time to follow them anymore.
But then again in april 2006 I moved to Miami and it was obvious that I'm going to support the same team, especially when I saw Shaq and Wade playing together Smiler

I see what you are coming from, he is one of my two favorite player (Manu being the other one) but if he left he would have quit one my favorite and that would leave a bitter taste.

One maybe would be if the team complitly screws him, and by that i dont meen just not getting Amare this offseason. But otherwise he would be Judas lol.

I know I will get blasted here, but honestly, because of Michael Beasley.

There is nothing wrong with that, no diffrence then becoming it becouse of Wade or ZO or Smush (ok Smush is diffrent).

As long as you dont make "Beasley owns KG/Haslem should clean his jersey" threads, or puts him over the team I dont think anyone is going to "blast" you.

I personaly like Beasley alot, he is great player and freaking hilarious.
