For me I would say Jamaal Magloire should start as a Center because I believe he will comeback from his 2003-2004 season with the New Orleans physical condition. Please lets motivate him by believing in him that he can do it because we can benefit from him if we do so...

Please watch youtube 2004 nba all-star and you will see that Magloire is one of the best Centers...

Question:
Who do you think should be the starting Center for our Heat granting if these are our Centers for 2008-2009 Season

Choices:
Jamaal Magloire 6'11"; 265pounds; 7'7" wingspan; 30yrs old
Udonis Haslem 6'8"; 235pounds; 7'0" wingspan; 28yrs old
Joel Anthony 6'9"; 260 pounds; 7'4" wingspan; 26yrs old
Mark Blount 7'0"; 250 pounds; 7'3" wingspan; 30yrs old
Alonzo Mourning 6'10"; 261 pounds; 7'4" wingspan; 38yrs old

Ic. You both are absolutely right. Just try to put him coz some of the heat fans consider Beasley to be a good Center in heat's lineup in comparison to Atlanta Hawks Center Al Horford as an effective Center that is very evident in 2008-2009 season.

Magloire or Blount. I hate to say Blount, but I did. Obviously, my first choice is a defensive minded veteran like Magloire. BUT, should he not be conditioned enough, give it to Blount. Definitely NOT Beasley, and definitely not Haslem. Haslem is a PF who can play spot minutes at Center when we run small ball(Cook, Wade, Jones,Marion,Haslem). BUT, he's a PF. Putting him at PF backup ensures a solid fall back for a shaky rookie that Beasley might be for the first half of the year.

I say Blount because despite his lack of rebounding and defense, the guy can score. AND, he can score outside of the post. Him in the lineup leaves a gaping defensive hole, but it also creates offense. I know, defense is a priority for all teams..I agree. BUT, if Beasley learns how to score on the low block quickly and learns how to do it efficiently-there's our low post scorer. With Blount outside the 14 foot area, Beasley's got the wholw post to himself to adapt and learn.

I say Magloire because he's a seasoned veteran, knows how to be a shot-blocking threat, and takes up space and isn't afraid to take a hit. A defensive center. If he conditions and really shows he wants to get back into NBA form and put in a few solid years, then we need to give him a shot. If not, then he's a backup defender.

Zo won't be back by the beginning of the season, and even when he returns, I don't think we'll ask him to start

Your right Blount is also a great option at the center spot...Hope both Blount and Magloire work hard before the season starts. If they be on good shape and fill-in their deficiencies, Heat will be tough to beat...Let's support them guys for our heat...

He isn;t a great option, don't say I said that I don't wanna get banned! Wink

no, I'm simply saying he's not a horrible option, he just doesn't play defense-thus making him not my, or anyone else's, first choice.
