Personally I think Barbosa or Bell would be a great pickup for us (preferably Bell as his contract is better, but less likely). If we were to sign and trade both Williams and Wright we may be able to swing a deal. If something like that does not happen then perhaps a third team may need to be involved, preferably one who is willing to deal a Center, like the Nets. The other option I would also do is Williams for a first round draft pick. Jason would add good depth to their roster so I think he would be worth it.

I was wondering how many responses you would receive to that trade idea. The Suns want a backup to Nash. Only a starter quality PG, who would serve as Nash's backup over the next season or two would qualify as equal value for Bell, Doris, or Barbosa [Bell is a starter; Doris has started; and I believe Barbosa has the best upside of the three - forget the roadrunner cartoon references, the young man can ball]. The Suns are looking for help on the cheap. They are not looking at a JWills price tag. Its interesting that Shaq has suggested JWills because as one Suns' posted expressed - "The Suns are in trouble. Shaq's massive contract and declining game will weigh this team down." [caulk up another "that a boy" for trader Riley] My opinion, the Suns were for a time period pretty high on Banks. I don't believe Banks has a future as the Heat starting PG. See if the Suns can be convinced to part with their 1st round pick [Suns are not a lottery team, so pick will be in the mid-high 20s] to get Banks back. Comment on the Suns' backup PG woes. Leftovers? The Suns will take what's left? July 8, 2008 Every year, for five straight years now, (the Steve Nash era), the Suns have said they would get a decent back up for Nash. And every year, they have failed, thus, Mr. Nash gets overworked and under-rested. This year Steve Kerr states that getting a reliable backup for Nash is their number one priority in free agency. So, what do they do? Nothing. Why? Because they have to wait and see what's left! THAT doesn't sound like a priority to me. Being over the cap and in luxury tax territory is still more important that winning a championship I guess. |

the suns don't really have anything to offer us. we got shawn marion from them and i doubt they'd ever seriously consider trading jason williams for barbosa. so its likely we'll lose j-will for nothing if he does go to phoenix
