So he faked an injury because he sucked at pick up games and though that his game was gone? Oh im sure LeBron wont be able to even make 5 points a game in the NBA after loosing to a constructor worker at H-O-R-S-E.

Harsh. I feel terrible for him. He was so young and promising. He made a mistake sure- but nothing bad enough for me to think he deserves to lose 6 million dollars. Damn, I hope he invested the money he got well. No college education or anything. Damn shame.

How is this relevant to the Miami Heat? If you want to post something that is going on in the league, then put it in the league talk section.

Anyways, that must suck. He had such a promising career ahead of them.

That was one of the best Miami Heat videos that I have seen on youtube.Great dunks. Wades new nickname should be the Priest because he just handing out baptisms like crazy on that sh*t. [wade+beasley=threepeat in responce to my "best dunks of the 07-08 season thread"]

here's the article

It’s sad to see a stud’s career end. Torn deltoid ligament? With scrapes and a high ankle sprain? I don’t care what the papers say. His career is over. And he lied. You don’t mess your leg that bad in a pick-up basketball game. 3 months recovery time? Try never. Even if he does come back, he’ll be lucky to average 10 points. 6/$66 million for that?

So what to do now GState fans? Do you void his contract? Buy him out? Well…here’s the thing; he lied. He was in a prohibitive activity. Owner Cohan can easily void Monta Ellis’ newly minted 6 year/$66 million dollar deal because there is no insurance coverage for prohibitive activity. Cohan doesn’t even have to buy him out. Also he has to consider that Ellis will never be the same EVER AGAIN. Yep, he’ll never be the same. Ever.

What to do now? From what I learned during the Jay Williams’ accident, you do not hope he comes back because most of his talent is gone. It’s just wishful thinking. I would think twice about buying him out because it counts against the cap.

If other rumors are true, they can officially pursue Kirk Hinrich. But why do that? You’re trying to replace Monta Ellis’ scoring and explosiveness, remember? Hinrich doesn’t bring either.

I would void the deal and present the 6/$66 million deal to Ben Gordon. Yes, he’s a restricted free agent combo guard, but he’s still there currently unsigned being presented with a 6/$59 million that he’s not too thrilled about from Chicago. He’s a proven clutch 20+ppg scorer unless you want to tank this season and hope to get a top 3 pick and use the money to pursue Joe Johnson. Just suggestions.

How unfortunate Monta. What were you thinking? You didn’t learn anything?

Apparently not.

Has there been any word yet of exactly how he got the injury? It obviously wasn't basketball but what was it?

And this makes me sad. I really liked Monta and thought he was gonna be a stud the minute he was drafted. I disagree with all the people already saying his career is over. The article is way to harsh for me. You never know if he could come back from this. But still he did make a bad decision in doing whatever it was he was doing to injure himself like that

wtf what you all on about "Kid just ruined his whole career" he will be back to 100% before the end of the season jay williams severed a main nerve in his leg, fractured his pelvis and tore three ligaments in his left knee including the ACL and required physical therapy to regain the use of his leg and monta's worst injury is a high ankle sprain that needs surgury why are people even comparing them ,williams' injury is like 10 times worse that writer obviously doesnt know what he is talking about.

It is relevant because there we many rumors about us getting him with a sign and trade or other options.. imagine what would have happened if we actually got him
