better than jordan?shaq?kobe?

Phil Jackson sure had plenty to say during a speech to the University of North Dakota as part of the convocation in which he received an honorary degree. Of the course of an hour, P-Jax criticized his school's nickname, told funny stories about Shaq swimming, and picked Dennis Rodman as the greatest athlete he ever coached. From the OC Register: "[Rodman] could probably play a 48-minute game and play the 48th minute stronger than the first minute of the game," Jackson told the crowd at UND. "He was that terrific an athlete." Video "proof," after the jump.

cool video:

what drugs is he on? Rodman is the most controversal player he has ever coached but definetly not the best athlete. Here is my list of Phil's greatest athletes of all time
1.Micheal jordan
2.Kobe Bryant
3.Shaquille O'Neal
4.Scottie Pippen
5.Dennis Rodman

Overall Best Players in my opinion
1.Micheal Jordan
2.Shaquille O'Neal
3.Kobe Bryant
4.Scottie Pippen
5.Dennis Rodman
you can even make an arguement for Karl Malone,Charles Oakley,Gary Payton,or Glen Rice to be on that list all though Phil coached them in the later stages of their careers but still it cant be hard to win championships with some of the greatest players of all time on your roster.same could be said of the Celtics.

And who are you to tell what other people SHOULD think? What if I said "You hate Wade. You love Kobe."

I don't think he is. Obviously that goes to Jordan but it's Phil Jackson's own opinion so we can't argue about it.

Personally, I think he might have meant that Rodman was his greatest achievement in coaching. Being able to control Rodman and make him listen to himself in the process of winning multiple NBA championships was no mean feat.

Apparently you are confusing athlete vs basketball player. Phil stated Rodman could play 48 minutes without getting tired, even be stronger in the 48th minute than the 1st minute.

I am just amazed by the lacking of reading comprehension sometimes on this board. I don't mean to be harsh but you are making something out of nothing.

If D Wade was a track star, world champion shot putter, high jumper, olympic swimmer, he would be a better athlete than MJ, not better basketball player, but better athlete.

Do you really think Phil is dumb?

Why do you have Kobe ahead of Shaq? Shaq in his prime ---- NO BODY IN THE HISTORY EVEN COMES CLOSE. Maybe MJ, but then again who can stop a center who is freaking huge and moblie too!

Word. Lol. IMHO, Shaq WAS THE GREATEST DOMINANT FORCE in the history of the NBA. Too bad it was only temporaily. MJ was able to sustain it. You can blame Shaq for his non-existent work ethic but you also have to remember Shaq has a history of taking beatings.

Shaq was never close to the most dominant force in the history. Maybe the best player who was big as hell if that's your definition of dominance ut Kareem, Wilt, and MJ in their primes run rings around this cat.

Don't be ignorant. Wilt had the strength to go toe to toe with the govener of California with weightlifting and the agility to compete in the high jump in college. Shaq doesn't hold a candle to Wilt physically. Shaq's too strong really? Because I remember Hakeem handeling him quite well and Hakeem isn't een as good as Kareem.

Hakeem, Kareem, and Wilt's peaks all run circles around Shaq's. Hakeem carried scrubs to his first championship while Shaq played with superstars in an era with no eastern conference. Kareem and Wilt's stats blow shaq's out of the water despite the fact they faced might tougher competition in a smaller unwatered down league.
