Tupac hands down IMHO! Although I like Lil Wayne he often raps about nothing, like most of todays rappers. It's about how much bling, money, rims, cars, etc etc they have.

Lil Wayne proclaiming he was the greatest rapper of all time was one of the most craziest, stupidest things he ever said. He hadnt proven enough, lyrically he's one of the best right now but not of all time, cuz really other than him and T.I., who's been putting out ****?

Well Weezy definitely aint the best of all time, not even close. To me, there aint no best of all time, maybe Pac, but I think there's a bunch of great legendary rappers that have been the best in their prime.

Here's my list, in no particular order;

2Pac, Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z, Rakim, Eminem, Dr.Dre and KRS-1.

"When Dwyane gets on the court, I can see the hunger in his face. He wants to win, he doesn't take any prisoners. He wants to KILL YOU!"

-Gary Payton on Dwyane Wade

"When Dwyane Wade moves, his whole team is forced to move with him. No one has done this since Jordan."

"But Wade does have that rarefied talent, and the proof is in the pudding. No one else in the league could have done what he did in the 2006 Finals, when he heaved almost the entire burden on his shoulders and proceeded to destroy the Mavericks. This performance has been gigantically undervalued, because it was so explicitly miraculous that simple praise does it no justice. There is a reason he was Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year - he deserved it. To be as dominant as Wade was that series, and indeed as he has been in total the last two years, takes much more than just talent. It requires a mental understanding equal to one's physical domination. Dwyane Wade does not make himself better, he makes the entire Miami Heat better."

Problem with Snoop is he's had some horrible albums too (remember when he got with No Limit)? He's had some good ones, but not nearly enough to be considered best of all time IMO.

I agree King, Weezy and T.I. have been putting out good stuff lately, but no where near the Albums Tupac,Biggie, and Jayz have put out. I wish today rappers would spit more battle at each other lyrics (without killing each other) to see who has the best flows. Good point because there have been legendary rappers of different era's, so its hard to say whose the greatest.

To me what determines the best rappers are, the beats (weak beats make it hard to bang when you ridin),fresh lyrics, the abiltiy to battle one on one, how many good albums put out and no long layoffs between albums.

Out of todays rappers
Jay-z Nas Little Brother Lupe Kanye common game talib mos def are good imo.
Snoop has one good album in what 14 years? I wouldn't put him on the greats list personally. I hate all the battle rapping lately and frankly I think it's getting corny. It used to be a big thing when rappers have beef now it's like everybody does and as a result the quality of the diss tracks are decreasing. No more "no Vaselines" and "ethers" now we are stuck with 10 repetitive *** diss tracks on some weak mix tape with the DJ screaming in the back ground.

To me, the flow, delivery, subject matter, wordplay, hits, of course beats, dedication and albums they put out. To me, I also respect Common, Big Daddy Kane, Chuck D, and Snoop Dogg has made hits too and has been a big representative of the West Coast. And Ice Cube! I cant believe I forgot him, he's nasty. But to me the 8 I mentioned above had the total package, most skill on the mic and the most credibility and success in their careers.
