I know most of you all are going to be getting the NBA games or NFL ones, but what about platform games? For those who do not know what a platform game is, it is an adventure game that has many series and is often popular among gaming fans who love a challenge.A couple of examples are Mario,Sonic,Spyro,Donkey Kong, and Pokemon(it was okay when i was younger, not the best game for REAL platform games). Those are some of the most famous now, let me draw your attention to the new generation and some old greats.

1. Jak and Daxter -this is easily my favorite platform game, it has a trilogy of regualar platform games for the PS2, and one for the PSP, as well as one racing game for the PS2. Rumor has it in 2009 NaughtyDog ( the same video game company that made Crash and Uncharted: Drake's fortune) is making a new game Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. Here is a list of games that they currently have that will instantly make you fans of the game after you a little, you will be hooked!
1.Jak and Daxter: The Precurser Legacy
2.Jak 2: Renagade
3.Jak 3
4.Daxter (for PSP only)
5.Jak X: Combat Racing

2.Halo WarsThis will not be coming out in 2009, but I can't wait for it.I loved the Halo franchise and it is definately in my top 5 platform games of all time.

3. Ratchet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction This game has basically a inferior in my opinion gameplay to Jak and Daxter. Still a great series though. Any one who likes blowing stuff up will love this game.

4.NBA 2k9 The best NBA basketball series known as 2k9 is back! There is really nothing needing to be said about this great game.

5.God of War 3Never really loved it, thought it was fairly good and I know a lot of people who love this game.

6.Uncharted: Drake's Fortune- Naughty Dog has done it again! The Sequel from Uncharted 1 is another great action adventure game with the return of Drake for another great adventure.

If any of you guys know any great sport or platform/adventure games please post here. Voice your opinions and what type of games you like. I could also show highlight videos or pics of some of the games or the predesscors (earlier versions) of the games too.thanks

Yours Truly: wade+beasley=threepeat Wink

Whats up? love the new name, too man. Yeah I like Halo, but to tell you the truth I am not really good at it, I just like the game. If you like Halo you would like Jak 2, the guards look just like Master Chief, the only problem is they are the bad guys. Yeah I forgot about Halo 3:Recon, thanks. I think I may have missed a lot of games, but that is what is great about the forums, people will post what i missed.

Is there a Jak and Daxter for PS3? Or is it not out yet?

I think naughtydog should make another crash bandicoot for ps3, but not like twinsanity because that was crap. Keep it simple, like the Wrath of Cortex on PS2; just add more levels than 25. They could do like a big fat final one with all the bosses or something! Maybe I'm getting carried away but that would be so cool. IF they were to make it they should make it hard though, not easy like most of todays game.

I downloaded Crash Bandicoot (The first one, on PSone), Crash Team Racing (Again, the first one on the PSone), Rayman (The first one) and Mortal Kombat II from the Playstation Store. They bring back so many memories, but I'd like them to include Crash Bandicoot 2, Crash Bandicoot Warped, Spyros 1-3, all the Tekkens. They should also put old ps2 games on the Playstation Store because some people have 40GB and can't play PS2 games (Like me).

And by definition Pokemon isn't a Platformer, but a RPG (It doesn't matter though, just wanted to point it out Wink)

At the moment though I have on PS3:

The Orange Box - Which I HIGHLY reccomend...5 games for the price of 1, and good games as well! Team Fortress 2 online is so much fun.

NBA Street Homecourt - Good, but gets a bit repetitve, once you get Max skills in everything, you've still got ages to go on the Story Mode and its very boring and repetitive.

Gran Turismo 5 Prolouge - Not bad, can't wait until the full version comes out

NBA 2K8 - Which is broken lol

Devil May Cry 4 - GOod, could be better though (Like free-roam and side missions)

Rainbow 6 Vegas - Good game, worth buying if its a cheap buy.

Well that's the end of my essay right there.

One of my fav. platform games are the Dynasty Warriors series. I don't know if anybody has played any of the games before, but it's really fun. Its mainly a game based on the Chinese 3 Kingdoms Era. You play as many fictional Chinese warriors from the various kingdoms (wei, ,wu and shu) And conquer the lands of surronding regions Fake Smile

There is a Jak and Daxter game coming out in 2009. It is called Jak and Daxter:The Lost Frontier and is a dual project for the PS2 and PS3. It is expected to break many records for platforming games, due to the series' popularity. Thanks for the Pokemon correction, still was a fun series when I was younger, just doesn't cut it anymore I guess. The Crash series I am hopefull will make a return.

I would love to see a big video game happen with Jak and Dax, Crash, Spyro (also a favorite of mine),Mario, Sonic, and Racthet and Clank. It would be the ultimate platform game, you could even through it Sly Cooper too.

Oh, and thanks for the recommendation of Orange Box, I will have to try it out, already played about every NBA game ever made for gamecube and the PS2 and PS3.

Naughtydog (the creators of Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot) have announced recently that the new game: Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is due for a release in late 2009 to early 2010. It will be the start for another new Jak and Daxter series. The game took this long for this release date because the company was and still is developing Uncharted 2, the sequel to the PS3 hit Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. I personally cannot wait for this game, the Jak and Daxter vs Ratchet and Clank rivalry is set to start all over again!

sounds good to me. I like chinese martial arts movies with Jackie Chan, Jet li, and the classics with Bruce Lee. Most recent one I saw was the Forbidden Kingdom. I highly recommend it. It had action and humor.

What does the new Need for Speed look like to you? I saw a trailer of it and it looks good, especially the graphics.

I think they're bringing it back to the streets which is a good thing because the whole point of the Need for Speed franchise is the street racing and I think they let themselves down with Prostreet.

I don't know how it is in the States but September-December is a good season for video games. Lot's of new games come out at this time. Obviously, not ALL the new, good games come out at this time but you get the picture.
